Model A Ford Bucket Hot Rod chassis. Custom Made to suit 1928 / '29 Ford Model A. Built in a traditional style, dropped front I beam and hair pins front and back.  The pics here show you don't have to start with original Model A rails and you can play around with the proportions of the body when building a custom car to suit your needs.

Of course I can use your pair of original rails or I can make an old rough chassis good again, provided the metal is sound. I have used coil over shocks on the rear end here because I wanted to be able to tune the suspension, however I could have used an original transverse spring for that early look.  This is an all steel body with opening and closing doors.
    
The chassis is made from RHS, I cut the shape of the front Model A horns into the RHS. The depth of the chassis is 32 Ford [6"], 2" deeper than a model a chassis. This is for strength and rigidity, the body with no roof adds no torsional rigidity to the chassis, so it is the chassis alone that has to do the job on its own.  This Model A drives very well on the street, hooks up at the Nostalgia Drags and is a blast to put it up our local hill climb. It is not a race car, and it is not quick by todays standards, but it is so fun and thats what hot rodding is about.
   
I knew I would race this car so a roll bar went in right from the start. Yes they look better without one but I feel safer with in fitted and it provides the perfect geometry for inertia reel seat belts so they will work and feel comfortable to ware. At the races I wear a 5 point harness.
 
All chassis leave our workshop with the first stage engineering paperwork for Hot Rod rego from an independant automotive engineer recognised by VicRoads. A Kustom Bitz chassis is manufactured to meet the Australian Street Rod Federation national guidelines for Street Rod Chassis Construction.
